I'm still learning how to use these Linux servers, but here's the ordeal:
I'm using an Appliance Server with MediaTemple.net -- I'm pretty impressed so far, but I've run into a problem with one of my clients' requests.
My client wants a PDF generator -- something to fill out the Acrobat Forms in a PDF file. The data would come from an HTML based FORM.
I've researched such addons as PDFLib, the FDF Toolkit and ClibPDF, but I'm having a heck of a time finding something that I can install on a Red Hat Enterprise Server 3 system. I've yet to be able to telnet into the server's shell (hey--I'm posting in the Newbie forum here!) but the Plesk 7 control panel provides a nice little RPM Install option. All of the RPMs I get seem to be made for Red Hat 6.2 -- I'm specifically looking for something that will work on Red Hat Enterprise Server 3.
If the forums here are anything like others I've often occupied, I'm going to figure that there are a few of you who are absolute pros at this kind of stuff... 😃
