Select all in listing

I am pretty new to PHP-programming but trying anyway. I am building an imagebank where customers could order images for print.

You can do different kind of searches for different categories, this is done from dropdown listings that gets their content from the mySQL database. This depends on the previous choice.

What I would like to create, but can't find out how, is the choice to search for all items in a category or select an itemgroup.

Example:

All

Dogs
Cats
Horses
Birds

Any help or tips appreciated

we will need atleast your database layout, or some code. a basic query to select all from a certain catigory would be.

"SELECT * FROM items WHERE cat='foo'";

this would select all items from your items table, where the catigory equals foo.

like i said, would need to see your db to improve on this, but it should give you the idea.
