configuration sendmail

I want to send an email, but I think that the configuration is wrong, maybe the path or something else. I use Windows 2000.

I don´t know how to configurate my pc to send email with php. I have my code but doesn´t send email because something is wrong on my configuration.

there is a line in your php.ini file that requires you to fill in the address of your mail server (eg; mail.foo.com ). fill it out.

I did it, look:

[mail function]
; For Win32 only.
SMTP = localhost ; for Win32 only
smtp_port = 25;
sendmail_from= [e-mail] ; for Win32 only

that isn't a mail server address. a mail server address should look something like mail.domain.com and it needs to be specified in the smtp section.

you could maybe try;

SMTP = mail.yahoo.com.mx ; for Win32 only
smtp_port = 25;
sendmail_from= [e-mail] ; for Win32 only

not too sure if yahoo would allow that though. bassically, in order to send mail, you need a mail server.

What PHP is asking for here is a mail server that allows you to connect and send mail through.

Yahoo does NOT offer free POP/SMTP access (Gmail does! :p).

What about using your ISP's email server? Simply fill in the info for that instead.

NOTE: I'm not sure what Gmail's policy is about using a PHP script to send e-mail via their SMTP server. I know they allow free POP/SMTP access to their users but.. I haven't read their complete policy. If you would like a free Gmail account, PM me with the e-mail address I can contact you at.

EDIT: After I posted, I thought about it; Gmail uses SSL on their SMTP. You might run into problems with that, not sure; never used it. I use a PHP mailer class called "PHPMailer" by Brent R. Matzelle.
