PHP Code blocks on forum

I was wondering if any of the mods considered changing the [ PHP ] tags to make them post in a scrolling textarea so we don't get super-wide pages.

Kinda like DevShed.

The problem though with them on devshed is that you have to scroll through them as they come up too small. Scrolling from side-to-side is a pain as well.

Perhaps applying some CSS would benefit all:

width: 100%;
overflow: scroll;

Should make it take up as much space as it can, and scroll what can't fit.

height...height...height!!!

there needs to be some kind of javascript thing that deterimines the window height...if the box height is more than say 400px tall (with the content) then it should stick at 400px...otherwise it could be 300px or so...

i think somebody should start a new wiki on this subject so we can get it perfect. 😉
