Testing if sessions are working with script

Hello:

I just completed writing a member registration system including login capability.

I used the session function.

Can someone tell me how can I test my script and verify that the session function is actually working?

Hmmm.....how can I figure out if your login script is working, or even how it works for that matter, if you don't give examples or code?

To answer your question, yes, when I input my username and password, I am able to successfully log in.

Can you login using a false username or password?

Have you unsuccessfully tried to break in?

Can you add/edit/remove users successfully across different user levels?

Can you access the member pages directly without logging in?

Does everything look okay in IE and Gecko?

I dont need answers to these questions, only for you to think about them, try them, and figure out some of your own was to test it out.

Open a new browser window then try to go directly to a restricted page without logging in. If you can then your sessions are not working correctly.

Thank you for your reply.

In my first browser, I logged in to my secure area.

I then opened second browser and attempted to open a restricted page, junior-matches.htm. The result I received was the following:

HTTP 404 - Page cannot be found.

I then went back to my first browser, where I logged in, and I clicked on the same restricted page, junior-matches.htm, and I was able to view it.

Am I correct in the assumption that my sessions are working properly?
