Just stumbled across PHP-GTK today .. I've been programming on and off with PHP for a few years now -- mainly for database-driven sites -- in that sense, I have the programming concepts down.
I've always wished I could write stand-alone PHP scripts and now it seems like my dreams have come true with PHP-GTK.
Here's my question:
In the past, I've always programmed PHP through a web hosting server -- not my own server or on my own computer. I'd write the scripts on my PC, FTP them and then run them through my browser.
If I want to install PHP-GTK on Windows XP, do I need to turn my computer into a server? I know that probably seems like a stupid question, but just curious. If not, do I just need to install the latest version of PHP first, then the PHP-GTK installation?
Any help would be appreciated. Most sites seem to not touch on whether or not your PC needed to be set-up with server software or not.
Feel free to email me directly.
Thanks for the help!!
