[Resolved] GD2 error

I am a newcomer to PHP and have installed 5.0.4.

I specifically want to use the php_gd2.dll library. I found the website confusing but eventually got a copy of the dll which I placed in a directory c:\php\ext which is also in the ini file. I removed the semicolon for the extension but it keep telling me it cannot find it. I tried copying it to windows\system32 but still no joy. The error say it cannot find the dll yet gives the full and correct path. I am using a mySQL extension which loads fine in the same directory.

Can someone help please?

Do you see a directory in the PHP folder called 'dlls' ? If so, copy all files in that folder into "windows\system32" and see if that helps.

Also, double- and triple-check the path in the error message. Make SURE it's pointing correctly.

Thanks for the reply. There is no directory for Dlls and am I certain of the correct path - a dll for mySQL loads fine.

I am at a loss what to do!

I meant inside the folder of the zip you downloaded (the one that contains all the extensions and such)

Ah - mystery solved! I downloaded an installer version of PHP and also a set of extensions that it appears are for version 4. I have just downloaded the source for version 5 and all is now fine.

I really think the site should make it 100% clear, or better still the windows installer also contain the extensions.
