statistical functions?

i need some statistical values calculated: standard deviation, covariance, fischer, etc.

Before I embark on creating my own functions to calculate these, i was wondering if there were any freebie statistical function libraries for php.

thanks for that oh-so-helpful post. tried google. i get this page:

it says, 'In contrast with other open source languages like Perl and Python, PHP lacks a robust community effort to develop a math library but you can just get this other super awesome package and use exec' which i don't want to do. it does go on to give an example in php, it just does simple linear regression.

i've spent quite a bit of time googling and i get 'statistical analysis of web pages' with no code. i get articles about genomics and teri shiavo. but not the code i'm after.

so i asked here.

i'm still looking. i need covariance, fischer, some others.

Did you look at the zend Codex. IT has a few of your requests on there.

There isn't one compiled package that I know of, or have heard of/seen, that encapsulates all your math functions. Your best bet is to create one.

thanks for input. i think you're right. might as well just write a few functions. don't need that many. i think part of my reluctance dates from my high school stats class...lots of long division (on paper!). calculating factorials, etc. i forget i have the computer to do the heavy lifting.

besides, the search is now taking probably as much time as it would just to write it myself.
