website query of mysql

Hello. I need advice please. I have created a database in mySQL using phpadmin. What I would like to accomplish is for a visitor to my website to be able to search the database records by just two criteria: Choose a city(s) from a list; COMBINED with choosing a specific day(s) of the week. Once the criteria is submitted the website refreshes the page with the records that match the criteria for the visitor to see.

Sounds simple enough, but I haven't found any examples to nail this down. Is PHP the way to go for this and where can I learn some specifics to do this particular search? Anywhere I can see the type of coding I would need. Help please. Thank you much.

Someone else here in the forum may be kind enough to write you some sample code, but to be honest with you, you may want to visit some online tutorials to get a better understanding for your own knowledge. This website (phpbuilder.com) has some tutorials for just this thing.

Thank you for the information. I take it the code listed will query for one city and one day. For example "Phoenix" on "Wed".

My website form is set up to check for an event in multiple cities on a single day -- Example "Phoenix" and "Glendale" on "Wed". How would I code for that?

Btw, I've been going through PHP and MySQL tutorials on tizag.com and I think they are written quite excellent for my level of understanding 😉 . They've really helped me understand a lot more than I did just a few days ago.
