PHPClasses.org...?

So, yesterday I signed up to this site so I could access some scripts. This site is so user-UNfriendly it's crazy. Plus, I simply wanted to see how a class pulled off converting an xml feed into something that could update a database, but...I had to dig through the code to find an assortment of other classes to make it work.

Then, I'm already being hounded with multiple newsletters and every time I go back, even though I've asked the site to remember me I have to login again...and then it wants to know which PHP clubs I'm in and such (which is none).

So, anyways...am I the only one who finds this place sort of bizarre? Notwithstanding, the technique I was in search of in the end was found and I was able to reconstruct it for my own purposes.

Curious to know what others might know/think about this place.

A lot of stuff there (and all sorts of ingenious ideas for applications), but at the cost of no quality control mechanism (either for programs or programmers). Can be self-improving to find a class/app and rewrite it properly.....

Haven't had any of the administrivial problems.

Pear looks nice...but I want to see source code before I download anything (I couldn't find a way to view the source).

Again, today, PHP Classes sent me a 'weekly' newsletter. It must be the most bizarre site I've ever seen (hence this thread). I bet I get another one this afternoon. Kookoocrazy.

I'm with ya vaaaska. There's a ton of good scripts out there for the tweaking, but the site is pretty clusterf*cked. I think they just need a little redesign (we'll sic goldbug and Mr. Brill on them), and all would be well.
