Two questions that totally have nothing to do with eachother.

Hello, I have two questions??

1) When someone asks for an algorithm say to create a schedule for a league. Now by algorithm, do they mean code that would in this case design the league with no interference of another team.

or are they using the word algorith other than the meaning of, "A step-by-step problem-solving procedure"

2) Say you where asked to make a checkout or a shopping cart for a site. After the User has clicked the 'pay now' or 'checkout' button. Then what steps would the script do next?

I would say:
1) If they use the word "algorithm" they either mean your definition or they don't know what they're saying (although I don't know what you mean by "no interference of another team"). [edit: nm. I figured out what you mean.]
2) For "pay now" I'd have them go to a payment method selection page and then submit their Swiss account number and password, and for "checkout" go to their cart page, where they can review and modify their selections, and see the prices and total costs. Best would be to visit some brand-name shopping sites and see how they do it.
