PHP not sending e-mail - Linux

I've always sent e-mail using the mail() function in PHP, but in Windows. Not I'm moving to linux and it doesn't send any e-mail that use to send correctly.

I'm using Debian CDD 1.0 Pre 4 (http://cdd.debianbrasil.org/project/), with Kernel 2.6.8.1 using Apache 2 with PHP 4.3.10-12. I comment the lines about the Win SMTP and uncommented the lines of the sendmail and installed sendmail on my machine.

Anyone can give me a help with this?

Well, is sendmail running? Can you connect via telnet to localhost port 25? What if you try to send mail on the command line using the sendmail binary?

$ echo "To: [email]me@example.com[/email]
From: [email]i@example.com[/email]
Subject: Test

This is a test.
" | sendmail -t -i

Anything in the mail log? (For postfix, debian has the mail log at /var/log/mail.log. Not sure what they do for sendmail.)

Hmm... You seem to know enough about networking that I'm not sure how much help I'll be. Obviously it says your connection to yahoo's mail server timed out. If this is on a home machine perhaps the isp is filtering out outbound smtp traffic. You might have to do the smart host thing through your isp's mail server.

Can you telnet to port 25 of mx4.mail.yahoo.com from that machine?
