setting radio buttons automatically from data gathered from DB

HI all,

does any one know if radio buttons can be checked automatically
when loading a page?

say data was saved on MySQL rearding the value of a radio button, could this data be retrieved and used again to check the radio button automatically when the page is loaded?

any thoughts?
