I have seen on websites before that there is a textfield where it is like an MS Works window. With all the HTML type functions. Is this a downloadable script under the GNU or something? If yes, what is it called and where can I download it?

That's a rather lengthy list of html wysiwyg editors. Some are under the gpl, some under a bsd style license, and some commercial. Knock yourself out. 🙂

You missed the important one. Cross platform. Not everyone uses windows.

And what's wrong with having a choice anyway? FF isn't perfect, but neither is IE. (IE perfect, there's something to laugh about.)

I dont prefer FF even though it has lots of cool features, like proxy, I prefer IE since it is one of the mostly used browsers so most sites are made for it.

I think you prefer the exploits, spyware, and viruses! lol.

While I'm not putting any browser above the other, I can say that I love firefox as it's free, and generally better all around. It's steps ahead of IE. The only draw-back is that not everyone knows or uses Mozilla.

However, after being the webmaster to quite a few sites, I can say that it's nearly a 50/50 split between IE and Firefox/Mozilla users.

But hey, they are just opinions.

Seriously though, I've been waiting on Xinha (fork of the much lamented htmlarea) to mature, but kinda getting tired of the wait.

Actually, I rarely get bugs, or viruses or anything like that. Then again I actually know how to use a computer and know what sites to not go on such as porn and anything else that gives them.

As far as browser wars go, I started with mosaic; it sucked, so I switched to netscape, and have since always used the moz stuff ... well, except for text-only browsing, when I use w3m. I'm very fond of firefox -- I think it's the best moz product ever.

Anyway, I can't criticize ie since I've basically never used it. :p
