is this a statement or a question?
as a long time asp coder recently moved to php i cant see much comparison. asp is NOT a language but a framework of intigrated objects that can be used by several languages to build web applications.
the most common language asp is written in is vbscript. a clumsy language derived from visual basic with virtually no object orientated functionality, little support for arrays, and a lousy syntax.
php on the other hand is a much more complete language with good support for the above mentioned plus many many more features.
asp comes complete with 7 objects, and about 60 -70 functions.
have you seen the php manual ?
ps: im not bitter, just a little annoyed ive spent the last 4 years learning aand developing asp, when i could have been spending my time being more productive with php.
