Hello.

I'm creating a gallery using PHP.

I've seen other galleries letting users download images through links and was wondering how this was done.

Instead of the normal open image, right click, select save as... I want to click a link that says <Click here to download image> and then the normal download pop up for the browser comes up.

Anyone know how to do this?

You need to use header() and specifically set the content disposition:

This is from the php manual for a pdf - but you can change the type to be the image type you use.

// We'll be outputting a PDF
header('Content-type: application/pdf');
// It will be called downloaded.pdf
header('Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="downloaded.pdf"');
// The PDF source is in original.pdf
readfile('original.pdf');
?>
