Greetings.

I have a turn based game. I need every few minutes to run a script on the db regardless if there are surfers in the site or not.
I can't use the cron (shared hosting).
Can I imitate the cron mechanizem with only PHP?

Depends on the setup. Do you have shell access? A bin directory? Is the PHP CLI installed?

If so, it'd be pretty easy. Otherwise, you'll have to come up with a more creative solution...
