Anyone else going to the PHP London meetup this evening? I'll be heading down, may arrive a little late though.

If I was up London way I'd be up for that, but I'm on the Wales carriage of the life train at the mo, and back in London next week. They do this every couple of months or something?

Every month I think. I haven't been since some time last year but I want to get into it now that I'm working in London.

Actually, funny you should mention that, but the guy that runs it, Marcus emailed me suggesting that we combine the PHPBuilder meetup with his. I said that ours was more of a social event rather than a technical one and that i assumed that if anyone wanted to go to a more technical one then we'd go to the PHPLondon one. Having said that, I'm gonna try to go to the next one

I just got an email from meetup.com asking if I'd like to become the new PHPBuilder group organiser and pointing out that we have to pay. Have they just recently started charging as I got the same email about PHPLondon? Are we still on for this Saturday?

I suppose I should really be searching back for the PHPBuilder Con UK thread but this one seemed close enough. If this Saturday is still on could someone post up the details as they've been removed from meetup.com 🙁

Yeah, I got a similar email for a writing meetup I belong to (but have yet to attend lol). Meetup is now requiring a monthly fee, and the organizer is expected to pay. I think it's wrong, and I think meetup.com is about to fail miserably. All due to too much greed!

PHPLondon - is a socialable do...

When I've been able to make it I found it a more of a drinking club with a coding problem! 😉 ( maybe thats just me! )

From the mailing lists, I've read it is starting to formalise the technical discussions - with presentations etc.. to aid knowledge share.

But it is a very relaxed socialable group - meets up on the first Thursday of the month...

Sometime soon I'm planning on coming to the US on a bit of a tour to see people that I've only spoken to online. My first stop is Cinncinati and the second will be Houston. Then possibly New York
