i have been experimenting with the PEAR Mail module and have come up against a couple of queries. i can get it to work in Mail and SMTP mode but not in Sendmail mode. i can't seem to get any error messages output - maybe because i'm not familiar with how PEAR handles errors. can anyone give me any pointers? it's the same on 2 systems; one FC1, and one a Cobalt RaQ4 (both running sendmail).
also, when i use the module with SMTP i find that i can send a mail using any From address. is this expected behaviour? i'm presuming this is a behaviour of sendmail of sendmail and not PEAR's Mail. does this mean my server is open to spammers? or is it just because i am sending from the localhost?
