Hi... I am creating a site where users will get their own URL once registered.... something like
www.domain.com/mfacer
or would it be better to give them
mfacer.domain.com
??
what are the implications of both on the server.... I can see the only problem being that there will be a lot of folders created on the server!!!
maybe it should be
domain.com/users/mfacer
any thoughts?? thanks 🙂
To the server, they're all pretty much the same. My personal preference is for
username.domain.com
as that lets you set up individual niceties later on, like http auth, css that are "site wide" for that users site etc...
depending on your host, you sometimes can get both and they take you to the same place.
