I upgraded today to the latest MySQL, Apache, and PHP.

Not sure why I put myself through this! I finally got each of those sorted out so they will start. But now I am running into problems with a front end for MySQL.

I was using MySQL-Front vsn 2.5 but when I tried to connect I got the following error:

#1251 - Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL client

So then I decided to download PHPmyAdmin. But after unzipping that I get an the same error when I try to start it up.

I saw an article by Mike Hilyard about adding old-password as an option in the config file. How do I do that?

Do I add it in my.ini? What is the syntax I need to insert?

So close, and yet so far.....

Thanks for any help.

I tried putting "old_passwords" in the my.ini file and I still get nothing!

Can someone tell me what is going wrong here?

Ready to convert back to my older version!
