[Resolved] Using DESTINCT in a query

Im sure this question has been beaten to death. But the answer(s) that came up under the search (29 pages) did not want to work for me.

SELECT DISTINCT swr_gallery.gid, swr_gallery.rid, swr_gallery.mid, swr_model.name
FROM swr_gallery
INNER JOIN swr_model ON swr_gallery.mid = swr_model.mid

That is my query. "swr_gallery.mid" contains my duplicate IDs. Everytime another comes up i just want to drop that row. any ideas?

The distinct thing has 4 fields to make things 'distinct' on in your query, not just the first thing to come after it, you could add a GROUP BY clause on swr_gallery.mid if that makes the query behave the way you want it to.

also added and ORDER BY to make it more pleasing to the eye and it was set. thanks for the help. 🙂 🙂 🙂
