want to send query out put to other page

Hi,

I have a query which out put i want to send second page query is

so here i want to send $my_query result to second page also in secon page i want to use it like real result as using of mysql_num_rows and mysql_fetch_array etc....

Can it possible ?

The closest you can come to this is probably to read the query results into an array with e.g. "mysql_fetch_row()", then store that array into $SESSION or $POST. In the next script you could then loop through it with a foreach.

if i have understood your question correctly then you should also just be able to run a :

$varname= mysql_query($query) and just send that through using the serialize() function and on the second page you can use the uhnserialize.

if you are using any classes for the storing of your database queries make sure that the class is included on both pages otherwise the serialize will not work.

What are you going to serialize? The "mysql_query()" result? That's a resource, and the resource type can't be serialized. If you mean an array containing the data from the query, then how are you going to "send that through"? If you mean via $SESSION or $POST, PHP will automatically serialize/unserialize it, so that's not necessary. If you mean serialize it and store it back into the database (or in a file), then on the next page retrieve it from the database (or file), unserialize it, and loop through the array with a "foreach", I guess yeah, that'll work; way redundant though.

If Qadeer still want to know (I think he's lost interest in this problem and gone on to another), I'd say just perform the query on the second page.

Actually problem is this the query take long time to execute and I want to show a gif image which show some working continue so i want to execute query in first page and on this page i also run a gif image so when query completed i redirect to this second page and on second page i just show the out put of query.

so that's why i am planning this.

A question also come to me IS this possible to run PHP script in parts mean one part execute and stop executing show out put result on browser and then execute remainder script. If this possibel then it can give me some help to solve my problem.

Far as I'm aware there's no upper limit.

Session data is stored in files on the server, so I guess the size is limited only by any file-size limit. In other words--a lot. 🙂

This is a common question, and I've never seen it reliably solved. The problem is that it's the browser that decides when to output what the server sends it. You can experiment with, for example, output buffering to see what happens. Probably the best results would come with client-side scripting.
