which file should I modify?

Excuse me, in the PHP manual in this very site, it says that to get to work the instructions that handle .dbf files I need compile PHP with the .--enable-dbase option. Just how I can do that. Which file I have to modify to do that?

NOTE: I'm working with a Red Hat server, and PHP 4.x (I'm at home rigt now and can't remember exactly, sorry :o )

when you compile php you would need to use;

./configure --enable-dbase
make
make install

So, what I need to do is to compile PHP again from the command line, and use that lines to enable dbase support?.

Depending on the version you might be able to find an rpm of it instead of recompiling. Check this site, for example.
