Conditions?

OK, first of all, take a look at this:

As you can see, they have a "Narrow your search" system.

I can completely understand how I would "SELECT" products or "ROWS" from my products table by price or manufacturer as the table already has these "Columns".

But how would I crate the "Mixer Type" conditions, such as:

(They have called it Style)

Karaoke
Kill Switches
Sampler
Gain / EQ

and incorporate them into my serach criteria?

I semi-undertsand that I would probably have to create another table called extra_search_conditions or something, but without creating loads of extra columns in my products table I cannot undertsand how to do this?

Can anyone help, two or three solutions would be interesting as I may be able to use snippets from each?

I would also have the same thing with my cd players category where I know how to list within a certain price band or my nanufacturer or both but then some cd players have the following functions:

Scratching
Pitch Bend
Jog Wheel
Front Loading

etc etc etc....

Just thought I'd add that as they are not static conditions.

There's logic there atop the database itself.

They've picked the criteria they wish to "narrow" in advance, and the PERL script that creates the page assigns to to Javascript arrays that you can see if you check their HTML code.

If you want to do pretty much exactly what they've done in terms of display, it should all be right there.

As for deciding on criteria, and writing to the Javascript, that's up to you...
