imagestring and copyright sign

hello,

i'm trying to get the imagesting() function to put in the copyright symbol. but it doesn't seem to do it, I've tried puting the actual symbol in and it comes up as something else, and i've also tried © html code for the symbol, which doesn't work either.

Can anything help?

it could be that the built in gd fonts dont support unicode characters.
you may need to use a ttf font with that character and imagettftext

that's what I wanted to do originally, but whenever I put in imagettftext it says that it's not a supported fuction...

yeah in order to use ttf functions it php needs to be compiled --with-freetype-dir=xxx and --with-ttf

you should ask your host to add it.
