Upload > 2MB without php.ini change

I need to allow users on my webpage to upload files of size greater than 2MB(setting made in php.ini upload_max_filesize)..... but I do not have access to "php.ini" so I can not change the above parameter.

Can anyone help me on how can I make this working without making changes in php.ini?

only if you find a way to change a setting in php.ini within a script that is called after the upload has been finished an dthe file uploaded has been discarded already...

you are right....... ini_set() allows to set php.ini in script......... but several parameters can not be set.....

upload_max_filesize is one of them.....

upload.max_filesize is changeable "PHP_INI_PERDIR" as can be seen in http://de.php.net/manual/en/ini.php#ini.list (thx to thorpe for the link to ini_set which leads to this link) and so you might use .htaccess

See Example 9.2. There are three examples there: you would use one of the first two depending on which version of PHP you have (probably 4.something).
