Hello,

I've made my own forum which works well but i want to add a feature to it which will show new posts in bold... now this will be user replated so how would i do it?? more forums like this one does it...

would it be done via timestamp or something??

Well there are several ways, continually updating a cookie with the lastvisited timestamp, or a much better way if you are using Sessions to count users online when deleting users from the table to update the users table with the last visited time. From here on its just basically getting that lastvisit time and finding newer posts which shouldnt be too hard.

Okay thanks, i've got it working fine.

Just a tip moer than anything. If a user signs on and reads the new posts should the be taken off bold???
