Getting mail() function to work

I have PHP4, Apache2 on WinXP Home SP2. I cannot get the mail() to work. I have no idea what to do. I tried google. No luck. Nothing is working for me. I have phpbb and a feedback script that uses the mail() function. How can I configure it?

Also, port 25 is blocked. But I can get it unblocked. Thanks!

are you running a SMTP app? PHP does not send mail, it simply sends the data on to your mail server.

Actually, under win32, you have to point to a SMTP server. Use your ISPs. Check the php.ini for smtp_server and sendmail_from
