Does anyone have any experience of accessing instant messenger contact lists via PHP? In particular Yahoo IM. I've had a browse around but can't find out if there is a specific API within Yahoo IM for accessing this kind of thing.
I need to write something which can import a contact list into a website database. Any help/pointers greatly appreciated.

im sure there wont be any hard documentation by yahoo in order to prevent people ripping off their client, but i found this documentation made by someone trying to figure out how it works. at the least hes got the login negotiation down, sending and receiving messages and friends signing on. it should be worth a look if you havnt seen it yet.
