Shared Variables

In PHP are there any methods for setting variables across users and sessions.

i.e. in an application scope or server scope?

No easy way that I'm aware of. You can use a flat file or database of course. There are also the shared memory functions.

Yes, thats what I feared!

I'm using aspell and its taking 0.04 seconds to initialise a dictionary - now all my users will be using the dictionary, so I was hoping I could create a cross session reference to the resourceid.

Currently I create it for each user everytime they have something spell checked..
