Adding Validation

Is their anyway i can add valdation to this query?

I need to first check from the table "ratings" to see if the user has been rated 50 times or more , if this is true , then id like a popup box to popup Saying "This will delete all Your Rating's and Reset your Rating to 0.00 , Continue?"

How can i do this .. This is the query ive built.

You could try using Javascript for the popup box... try something like this:

NOTE: I don't know the structure of your ratings table. You'll have to adjust the "SELECT num_of_ratings" bit so it works for your setup.

Ok i see how javascript can work here , thanks for the example.

1 Big problem tho .. When i click no , my ratings are still being deleted.

Noticed somthing that might help

Your options say Yes and No

When i run the script , the options IE gives me in the javascript box are Yes and Cancel .. does this have anything to do with why it's still deleting the ratings if i hit cancel?

Ouch.

Even if the rating's are less then 50 ..

It's doing the action if their less then 50 , but it's not exiting ... So if i was rated 1 times , it would forward me to the header where i have my message " You must be rated over 50 times to perform a rating reset". but it's not exiting , it's still doing the rating reset.

Erm, yeah. I was hoping you'd pick up on needing exit() there yourself. Try this code if it's still deleting when you say No or click Cancel:

Wow .. I dont know whats wrong with it ...

it just still doesnt work.

Either option i press now deletes all the ratings for the account , even if i press cancel.

Ive tried that now ,

It's stoping the deletion of ratings now if i press ok or cancel.

It sends me to
/rate_reset.php?&confirm=yes;

or if i choose cancel
/rate_reset.php?&confirm=no;

Ive decided to go a whole different route brad , thanks for all your help man , i really appriciate it , but i need to re-design my entire site from the ground up.

I run a Online Community for College age'd people. Their's user account's , profiles , rating of picture's , profile comments , forums , private messages , all of this.

I need to re-design a Community from scratch , i understand this will be a big task , but i can use samples of thing's from here and thier to give me an idea of what to do.

My question to everyone ..

Is thier a good solid php script i could use a base for this? If so please let me know
