dysplay events by Month and year

hello!

1st of all, let me thank all for your attention.

my problem:

I want to display a list of events in this fashion:

June 2005
event 1
event 2
etc

July 2005
event 1

September 2005
event 1
event 2
etc

There will be no "month year" when there aren't events on that month/year

my db: mysql

the event date filed on mysql is a DATE field (aaaa/mm/dd)

can some one help me? I already saw some examples in the forum, but nome with the format "month year".

As a matter of fact, the moth I need to output them in Portuguese language. if some one can help onm that, I would be very pleased.

You have (2) options, (1) you can select all the rows GROUP BY the month OREDER BY the day and then in your return while(loop) use a if() block to display the month and year header when the month and year changes!

	}

echo $parts[2] . ', ' . $parts[3] . ': ' . $row['event_title'] . '<br />';

OR

You can use (2) selects! First select the Month and Year, then the second select will select the day events in that month! The second query is placed in the first query loop!
