Help with php scripting, please

I am looking for a simple phpbb script or someone who will create one for me.

A script where User1 fills in a Form, with two fields. One field requires the User1’s Name, checked against the Registration database for validity.

The second field requires User2 Name, checked against the Registration database for validity.

User1 selects the Proceed Button and, once both Names are verified to be valid PHPbb User Names, two lines of information are displayed on that page, from a PHPbb database table related to User2.

Additionally, the Proceed Button triggers two functions. One function it performs is it sends a message to a Forum moderated by the User 2. The second function it performs is it sends a Private Message to User2.

Is this possible? Can someone assist me? Thanks.

im not going to write it for you if that is what you want. isn't there allready some sort of private messaging built into phpbb? your best bet would probably be to find there private messaging functions, and pull them apart to your needs.

ive never looked at phpbb code, but there might be an api or something you could use.

I wouldn't know how to pull them apart to suit my needs.

What is an api?

Just some editing of files, as per installation instructions, of PHPbb MODS.

So, I am still looking for scripting help.

to be honest, no one here will DO it for you. this site is setup to help people learn to program php. if you want to learn, you need to download the manual and start reading. if you just want this script made and working you have a few options.

a> search the phpbb board and see if anyone has allready made something like what you want.

b> search somewhere like www.hotscripts.com for something simular to what you want.

c> hire a programmer to do it for you.

obviously both a, and b would meen that you would more than likely need to fine tune the scripts to fit your needs, but this is probably your best route as c is going to cost you.

if you are lucky, someone on this very board may allready have something like this made. but unfortunately, it is against my policy to write solutions for people.

im here to learn, and help others learn. handing out code does not achieve my objectives.
