Displaying Numbers

I want to display the page numbers on a forum that i have made...

for example there are 5 posts per page...

there are 20 posts fitting the criteria i want

i want it to display 1 2 3 4

1 for every page that it would need...

anybody know how?

This should work:

$posts_per_page = 5;
$total_posts = 31;
$number_of_pages = ceil($total_posts / $posts_per_page);
for ($i = 1; $i <= $number_of_pages; $i++) {
    echo '<a href="' . $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] . '?page=' . $i . '">' .
         $i . ' </a>'; 
}
