Problem with <select>

Alright, this is a noob question but still 🙂

i am echo-ing a whole table if one option is enabled and echoing another table if another option is selected.
The problem arises when i insert a <select> field.
I am running some code for the <option> values which im pulling from the database in there.
I don't know how to tell php to treat the code bit differently. How can i make the whole thing work ? :queasy:

heres my example:

Try this instead:

Thank you for replying bodzan. I tried that before, and tried it again now, but it's not listing anything. I did a query test which came out successful, so it isnt a database problem. What could be wrong or is there another way ?

Shouldn't the 'n' after </option> be preceded with a backslash?

yeah, it is in my code. I made a typo in the one above 🙂

So the probem is still here.

This is very strange. I see no reason why it wouldnt work 🙁

It could be that something isn't echoing out...

it's exactly the same as i wrote it above ( without the \n typo ) 🙂

so the code is the same. do you mean that something in the database isnt echoing out or did u mean the code ?

oh ya,

this is what comes out:

and the exact query is:

"SELECT * FROM Table WHERE RID='$RID'";

If it's saying that it isn't a valid argument for mysql_fetch_array, then it IS a problem with the query.

Has the $RID variable definitely been set? Is that defintely the table name (case sensitive etc...)?

At least you know where the problem lies now 🙂

..you couldn't perform your query somehow and the result isn't there...

If RID is writen like that meaning the same letter capitalisation then there is something else wrong with it...

Are you connected with the database and all? Then, is the table name correct? If all of these thing are correct try renaming your $query to something else (getting out of ideas really...) if that fails try running the query through phpMyAdmin if you have it and see what it says...

Then post back here and let us know of the results...

sorry for not replying sooner, i was too busy with work for the past 2 days. RID and everything is written the same in the database. I will try what you said and doing a query from phpMyAdmin then let you know. 🙂

Replace

$query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table");

with

$query = mysql_query("SELECT * FROM table") or die(mysql_error());

To get the error that MySQL is returning.

Thank you - I put it in a seperate query, out of <select> and still got that error
I then rewrote the whole code once again ( exactly the same ) and it worked ! Honestly - I have no damn clue whatsoever how come it didn't work and when i rewrote it - the same! - it worked.

Strange world .. lol
