Take a values from a text box on the same page?

I want to take a value from a textbox and pass it like URL variable.

How this can be accomplish ?

im guessing youre passing the textbox value from a form page to a php form process page.

ie:
<form method="post" action="process.php">
<input type=text value="http://www.google.com">
</form>

process.php:

<?php

$myURL = "$_POST[name_of_textbox]";
header("Location: $myURL");
exit;

?>

What I want to do is the following...

I wanna have a text box (without a button) It´s a search field

and with a href link pass a URL variable with the value of the text box (the word to search for).

<a href="results.php?V="[the value of the text box]">Next</a>

I know that I could simply take de form variable in the submited page, but Im having some problems in the result page, Im showing 5 articles per page, the search works fine, but when I wanna see the next articles of the search... the page dont show me any DB data, and when I go back only show me 1 of the 5 articles.

Im pretty shure that won´t happen If I use URL variable.

Since PHP is a server side scripting language it can work only with the data passed to the server through $POST or $GET or $_SESSION...
