[Resolved] Str_replace doubles

Morning,

I'm sure there is an easy explanation. I have this code to clean up a text file so it can be uploaded to a database.

$data = file_get_contents("../PHP/Yardcheck.txt");

$data = str_replace("|", ",", $data);
$data = str_replace(" ", "", $data);

$fp = fopen("../PHP/Yardcheck.txt", "r+");
fwrite($fp, $data);
fclose($fp);

It works perfectly....then the last three records are left alone.

Yard,25693,C,MT,,,05/20/20,01:31,Dayton

this was in the documentation:

str_replace() was added in PHP 3.0.6, but was buggy up until PHP 3.0.8.

i just copied your text and this code worked fine for me:

Another possibility is that your file writing code isn't doing what you want. If you want to REPLACE all the text in the file you have opened, you probably shouldn't open using 'r+'. try 'w' or 'w+'. using W here will open the file for writing and truncate the file to 0 length. i'm not certain but i think that opening with 'r' will write to the beginning of the file and will also leave all the original data in there as well.
