str_word_count is listed as having three options, I don't see how the second and the third differ. I'm trying to use this to pull words from a comma or space delimited file (haven't decided which yet) and tryint to decide which I should use. Could someone help explain the difference between the second and third options. Thanks.

compare output of 1st result and output of 3rd result see a difference?
in 1st output fri3nd get's split up into fri and nd whereas in 3rd output fri3nd doesn't get split up
The difference between option 1 and 2 or the second and third shown on that page I think is that 2 puts the words in an array by the position of the first character of the word, which might vary so I think I should use the second.
