Fish for homes type site

On how to create such a thing. You know the set up- ppl search for a property based on location, price, etc.

But i have precious little coding knowledge so, I need a way to do it that doesnt involve programming genius. I could probly throw together a simple database, but at present my best idea involves sorting properties into dirs, depending on location/ price range etc. and searching in one or several depending on the search terms given, except, thats rather a lot of dirs.

Anyone got any better ideas?

you will actually find coding such a setup using directories and files allot more work than storing everything in a database.

but really if you have "precious little coding knowledge" this could take weeks or even months to get done, it is programming afterall (i dont know why some people expect it to be easy :-) ). if you want to learn your welcome to it. if you just want the job done, you might want to look at hiring a developer.

another option would be to look into using a cms (content management system). theres heaps around, and chances are you'd probably even find one based around real estate.
