image properties - getting the keywords with php

I wanted your thoughts on this idea I had.

In windows you can right click and edit the properties of an image (like a jpg) and add things like Author, Keyword, etc.....

Is there a way for PHP to access this information in a jpg file and make it into a variable?

E.g. I have a photo with author "mike" and keywords "mike, lance, adam" and a comment of "hey this is a comment"

Can php get this info? I've seen sights like www.sxc.hu where they seem to pull some of this information out (since my camera stores info about flash etc within the photo itself) - but if anyone knows of any tutorials or ways to do it I would be VERY grateful...

you can get image data with the exif functions. you must have php compiled --with-exif or php_exif.dll loaded if youre on windows.
