move_uploaded_file vs. copy

I am implementing a picture upload feature into a photoalbum. when I try to use the move_uploaded_file function the image appears in the proper destination directory, but it is not displayed through the browser. When I use the copy function the file is displayed through the browser.

Why is this happening?

thats a strange problem. the two functions are identical except move_uploaded_file will return false if the file was not uploaded via http post. maybe some of the code in question would help resolve it.
