HTML to PHP

I am wanting to create a football management script but i dont know alot about php although i am willing to learn, i've seen a couple of sites that looked to have been created in HTML then changed to .php with php encoded into it

is this possible or am i just looking at it wrong?

Where can i get a decent free php editor as well?

Best way to learn PHP is to buy a book mate.

I suggest Larry Ullman's PHP For the world wide web. It's a great little starters book with enough information for what you want to do.

TextPad is the best "free" text editor 😉 or PHP Expert Editor.

Just a quick bit of non-techno bable, HTML is used to display text, images etc on web pages, PHP is a programming language which "makes things happen". It's use to enhance HTML (web pages). They are used together.

The best way to learn to is try things out. If you are serious it will take you a little time...

I gained a true understanding of what I was doing by reading Larry's book 😉
