mysql 4.0.24

I'm using php with mysql 4.0.24. Does anyone know if mysql is backward compatible with earlier versions? I'm having trouble using its hidden_field function, which is good with mysql 3.22. Thanks

I've never heard of a 'hidden_fields' function in MySQL (or PHP) ... doesn't seem to be in the manual either ... what is it?

mysql v. 3.22 has a hidden_field () that allows you to embed values as hidden fields in a form so that they will carry over to the next invocation of a script. I'm getting an error msg with mysql 4.0.24 that says that there is no such function.

Thanks for your reply. You're correct; there is no hidden_field (). I just did another google search which gave me a corrected script for the one in the text book I was using and includes a custom hidden_field(), which is simply a rendition of the html 'hidden' attribute.
