[Resolved] HTML tags inside PHP

Pls I´m going mad this kind of errors make me lose my head.

Why this works

if (!empty($row_details['Mercado']))
   echo "<a href=\"http://www.mercadolibre.com.ar/jm/item?site=MLA&id=16856306\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"images/mercadolowlogo.gif\"></a>";

and this not

 if (!empty($row_details['Mercado']))
   echo "<a href=\"$row_details['Mercado']\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"images/mercadolowlogo.gif\"></a>";

I only change the href so it takes the value from the DB.

plsssss help I know that must be some dumb error that I´m making

Not 100% suire but.. did you try:

if (!empty($row_details['Mercado']))
   echo "<a href=\"$row_details[Mercado]\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"images/mercadolowlogo.gif\"></a>";

or

if (!empty($row_details['Mercado']))
   $mercado = $row_details['Mercado'];
   echo "<a href=\"$mercado\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"images/mercadolowlogo.gif\"></a>";

the first example it the same that I put.

but when I tried with the variable it work. thx =)

Why this kind of error happens ??? 😕

Hey kmus. this first is NOT the same. Not the absence of single-quotes.: <a href=\"$row_details[Mercado]\

The quotes and double quotes are both used as deliniators for text. I found the combination of double and single quoites to sometimes give problems. I am not sure what the reasoning exactly would be.
