Back button - working after Logout

Dear Friends,

I am having a problem with back button in the PHP project.  I have logged out (destroyed the sessions) after that when I click on Back button in browser, it's going to the previous page.But It suppose to don't go to the page.Because I have given session validation there.I am using IE5.0..

Any one pls send a reply to solve my problem..

It's the page cache...you should set your html so it won't cache the pages. I think that's what you want to do - but it's my understanding that this isn't foolproof.

Yes friend ur totally right. I want to clear cache.But I want to do this by php coding.

I tried
"header("Expires: Mon, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT");
header("Pragma: no-cache");"
this..It's working fine with Mozila, but IE5.0 NOT WORKING.

Here I am expecting ur help...
Pls send me your sugesstion...

It's my understanding that it's not going to work for everything...hence the problem with IE I guess.

On logout...this is a little messy maybe...perhaps try to send them back to the exact same page with the login screen or something. The cache will then be that particular page. However, I'm not really sure that is foolproof either.

what exactly is the problem?

if i log out myself i know the page as i used the "logout" link displayed on that very page

if i want to do any action there is a serversided check whether i'm authorised or not and this check will return that i'm not allowed to even after navigating back

if you want to clear my cache you can't do as I don't want YOU to change anything on MY COMPUTER, that's not of your concern 🙂

maybe including

header ("Expires: Mon, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT"); // date in past
header ("Last-Modified: " . gmdate ("D, d M Y H:i:s") . " GMT"); // alway modified
header ("Cache-Control: no-cache, must-revalidate"); // HTTP/1.1
header ("Pragma: no-cache");

in every page that is reachable through the browser will help

oh: and have a look at [man]session_cache_limiter[/man]
