I hope this isn't too long.
Hi, I am using Miva Merchant E-Commerce Software and recently purchased a module for it which allows people to download products from me. The documentation says that I can serve the products from a remote server, so I set up my own Windows server which Apache and PHP on our office T1. (I am clueless about Apache and PHP - just followed a tutorial online and all works.)
The problem is, the instructions for setting the module up with a remote server seem to explain how to do so if someone is renting another server, rather than running there own.
I set up my DocumentRoot as F:/www
They told me to put my "downloads" directory which would hold my product outside of my root so I put it in F:/downloads.
How do I tell PHP where f:/downloads is?
Here are their instructions. I know what to put on everything except for Number 2. I don't have a /home/username on my server. All I knew to set up was F:/www.
Say the downloads are in /home/yourname/downloads on the download server. In the Soft Goods Global Settings tab, the relevant settings would be
- - Suppress file checking: checked (I DID THIS)
- - Path to data directory: /home/yourname/
- - Path to downloads: downloads/
- - URL to PHP script: http://www.downloadserver.com/download.php?
Help?
Here is the link to their short instruction page on what to do:
