Wird include() Problems

i can't get include to work...😕

<html> <body>
<a href="index.php">Home</a> -
<a href="about.php">About Us</a> -
<a href="links.php">Links</a> -
<a href="contact.php">Contact Us</a>

index.php

<?php include("menu.inc"); ?>
This is my home page that uses a common menu to save me time when I add new pages to my website!

I don't know if it's my httpd.conf that is the problem. SSI shtml works just fine.
i have tried include with: .inc, .php, .htm, .html.

what i want is to include af html <DIV>
in index.php

please help 🙂

where does menu.inc lies in a folder? have you check the spelling if its correct?

both menu.inc and index.php are in:

C:\Server\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\test

i cannot understand this.

my folders seems to be locked up.
each time i unlock the folders it lock it again....

maybe this is the cause???

the security permission in a folder does not affect the include or require/include_once/require_once

what is the error display??

there is no error displayed.

it only shows the text of the index.php
it's like it dosent know what to require
og include (menu.inc)

is there a log file in php5?

i forget to mention try to view the source of your html when you run in browser "right click->view source"

the first part of the <html> is in the
menu.inc file :

as i can understand the include should get the first part (menu.inc) into index.php

and when i what the source code it should be like this:

what should i look for in phpinfo?

include_path: ;C:\php5\pear

safe_mode_include_dir: no value

loaded module: mod_include

there was no more info on include

hmmmm.. well it seems php5 has bug on it, and i havent tested the php5. anyway, try editing php.ini and set it on the error_log in that manner you can log the errors

okay i tried the index.php again, this time with the full dir.

include ("C:\Server\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\ken\menu.inc");

and that worked! 🙂

okay i tried the index.php again, this time with the full dir.

include ("C:\Server\Apache Group\Apache2\htdocs\ken\menu.inc");

seems the error is your path you said a while ago they are both in htdocs/test.. and now i see that your menu.inc reside in different folder htdocs/ken
