Hey Guys (and ladies too)

I inherited a site where the webmaster moved on and we jjst had these errors in our forum section.

1) error in get_userdata

2) 1064: You have an error in your SQL syntax. Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1.

3) SQL in question: DELETE FROM gl_sessions WHERE uid =

4) error in get_userdata

Seems a script is fouled up but where? Can anyone help ? all help is appreciated.

I can FTP to the site, log on to the control panel, or see the home page

have you check all the database??

the line
'SQL in question: DELETE FROM gl_sessions WHERE uid = [$missing]'
suggests that your didn't pass a value to be queried for the 'uid' field.
check for places in the code where the variable '$missing' might have its value(s).

I checked the gl_sessions and things looked OK there. That sql looks that same as it always did. As I said, I am REALLY new at this (meaning I inherited it) At this point, i am thinking a php file is corrupted? Yes/no?

Then the problem is to find which one.

Well we did a restore which corrected the problem, but that still doesn't help with the problem. Looks like some tables were missing, is that a normal falure mode or would that only happen if someone deleated or modified them?

Seems to me strange faailure under normal conditions. .

if someone deleted a files or a table / database/field. this will affected the system of course
