Redirecting a URL

I only need to use PHP to redirect a URL to Oracle HTMLDB application and my requirement is that the URL to change to the new URL in browser also.

For example when the user type:
www.mysite.com

The user will be redirected to:
http://www.mysite.com/pls/htmldb/f?p=101:1

I added this code to my index.php file:
header("Location: http://www.mysite.com/pls/htmldb/f?p=101:1");

The problem I have is that the user will get redirected correctly but the url in the browser will stay http://www.mysite.com and it does not change. I need to make sure that the browser URL also changes as a result of the URL redirect. In other words, the browser url will also look like:
http://www.mysite.com/pls/htmldb/f?p=101:1

I greatly appreciate any help.

I tried the script but I still have exactly the same problem. The page redirects to new url but the browser still displays the old url. I really want the browser to display www.mysite.com/pls/htmldb/f?p=101:1 eventhough the user typed www.mysite.com

Are you sure it's redirecting at all? You shouldn't have to do anything to make the browser show the url you were redirected to. In fact, it's just the opposite. The only reason you'd have to get hacky is to mask the true location (like the last poster thought you were trying to do).

So, can you confirm that it is, indeed, redirecting like it should be?

Thanks for your reply. Iam sure that the url is being directed. Here is the Apache Server Log when I request the url:

By the way I am testing the url using IE and Fire Fox.

It's because you're using frames. The whole frameset isn't redirecting, just the contents of a frame.

What is the reason for using javascript for all the links in the menu? You run a risk of having non-java browsers being unable to bvrowse your site..

I am using an Oracle tool called HTMLDB to quickly build a database centric website. Probably the template I picked is using framesets and javascript for the menus. The website is limited to specific customers that I have who only use IE thats why I do not care about using javascript. The problem I have is I cannot tell them to type the whoe url so I need to fix the frameset problem so the redirect will work. I will tell you if that fixes the problem.

I am still struggling with this. I cannot find where the frameset is comming from because the frameset is not in any of the html templates. I also noticed that only when I request Index.html or Index.php and the redirect happen the frameset appear. I request the site directly using th IP address and the full url the page does not have the frameset.

It is the forwarding service that was causing the problem for me they gave me a script to work aroung the problem but will I will be droping them soon.
